There’s no “one size fits all” approach for gastric procedures.

What’s right for someone else may not be right for you.

That’s WLSA will recommend a procedure for you following an in-depth consultation between you and one of our specialists.  Once we understand your unique circumstances then we can make real progress on your weight loss goals.

Spatz3 Balloon

The Spatz3 Adjustable Intragastric Balloon is a non-surgical solution just like the Orbera Balloon. Both balloons are deflated, inserted into the stomach through the mouth while patients are under a low dose of anaesthetic.  Once safely in place, the balloon is then filled with saline.

While the procedure remains the same, the Spatz3 has two major differences from the Orbera Balloon:

  1. It can remain in the stomach for up to 12 months
  2. It can be inflated or deflated as necessary or desired
Spatz3 Intragastric Balloon

The Spatz3 Intragastric balloon is designed to assist overweight individuals with a BMI between 27 and 35 with their weight loss journey. The procedure is suited to those who are looking for an alternative option to weight loss surgery, and are motivated and keen to to comply with a Healthy Outcomes Process Program.

As with all of our treatments, a 12-month Healthy Outcomes Process Program, which includes support from a WLSA psychologist and dietician, compliments the procedure, assisting patients to maintain the weight loss after the balloon is removed.

Success Stories

I’m so proud of how far I’ve come.

Seeing the ‘before’ photos now feels a bit crazy, but I’ll never be ashamed of my before photo, because that person was strong enough to take this life changing step.

The surgery decision is just the first step. The right mindset, new behaviors and connecting with the WSLA staff have all been key. I have so much more energy to funnel into work and the things that are important to me.

Even from just 4 weeks post-surgery, I had already lost a huge amount of weight and was feeling so much better in myself. Now, good habits and mindful eating are second nature to me. WLSA has had such an incredible positive impact on my life!
